Criteria for that category most likely evolved over time, as the devs fleshed out the concept. But as for a lore-friendly explanation… I really don’t know. Also I think the reason kiyohime isn’t is because she turns into a dragon specifically, which I guess doesn’t count as an animal.
Same for quetz

well I think you should make a own video when talking about Dragon Trait, because just because someone like “Elizabeth” has a dragon as a family crest and thus gets “Dragon Trait” or Artoria Pen “Dragon” because of her name, it is still different than Melusin who is a real dragon. and my opinion on dragons if they existed in the world of Fate they would certainly count as an “animal”
