4:30 aurora still has the crown of most hated villain for me.
Douman feels like dark eldar from 40k. He is evil not out of necessity or he’s being controlled, he’s evil because he likes it. And there’s a charm on irredeemable villains that do things just for scheibes and giggles. Also he got what he deserved in heian kiyo.
Aurora on the other hand is the pinnacle of hipocrisy, both from the character and the writer. Not only she betrayed, killed and manipulated everyone just out of jealousy, they also give her a mercy killing ending. Never letting the viewers have the satisfaction of seeing her suffer. If that’s wasn’t enough we also have the story hammering down that “even herself doesn’t know she’s evil because of her power” which only makes people hate her more.
